Office of the Chief Administrative Officer/Corporate Services


The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer is responsible for the overall administration of the departments, developing corporate policy, providing leadership and direction for senior staff (CMT) in the day-to-day and long-term business affairs of Maple Ridge in accordance with Council's strategic plan and providing advice to Council about organizational and operating procedures. The division consists of: Clerk's, Economic Development & Civic Property, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, RCMP/Police Services and Sustainability & Corporate Planning.

The division's role is to ensure planning and coordination of resources in the management and development of parks, facility operations and delivery of recreation and cultural services. It also provides opportunities that build individual, neighbourhood and community capacity by connecting citizens and groups, sharing information, developing resources and facilitating planning that supports community-driven efforts to build community capacity and assets.

Parks, Recreation & Culture


The Parks, Recreation & Culture (PRC) Administration division is responsible for carrying out corporate initiatives as directed by Council and the Corporate Management Team (CMT). PRC also attends to inquiries and requests for assistance from staff, Council and the public. Identified community needs are addressed by a variety of approaches from the direct provision of services to establishing partnerships that leverage expertise and funding from other sources. The division consists of three departments: Communications, Parks & Facilities and Recreation & Community Services.


Public Works & Development Services


The Public Works & Development Services (PWDS) Administration division is responsible for carrying out corporate initiatives as directed by Council and the CMT. PWDS also attends to inquiries and requests for assistance from staff, Council and the public.

The division manages the City's activities with respect to the administration and implementation of municipal policies, bylaws and services. The division consists of five departments: Building, Engineering, Licences & Bylaws, Planning and Public Works. The Ridge Meadows Recycling Society liaises with Council through the division.

These services include development processing, the issuance of building permits and business licenses, and the construction, operation and maintenance of municipal infrastructure. In addition, the division attends to inquiries and requests for assistance from the public.
