207 Street Road Improvements (Dewdney Trunk Rd to Westfield Ave)

The City has been working with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) to design improvements at 207 Street and Lougheed Highway which is a provincially regulated and maintained intersection. The road improvements will address north/south traffic flows, vehicle movements in and out of nearby businesses, and pedestrian and cyclist safety along 207 Street from Dewdney Trunk Road to 118 Avenue with asphalt resurfacing extending south to Westfield Avenue.

The City and its consultant, R.F. Binnie and Associates, have completed a functional design, which received public feedback at an Open House held on June 20, 2017. View the Display Boards (PDF) and Drawings (PDF).

The project is now at the detailed design stage and construction of the proposed road improvements is tentatively scheduled for 2019. The City and the consultant are working with MoTI to get approval on the proposed improvements at the Lougheed Highway intersection. Pavement resurfacing has been completed from Camwood Avenue to Maple Crescent as this did not require MoTI approval.
