The Citizens' Representatives Working Group (CRWG) was established February 10, 2015 per the Terms of Reference of the Mayor’s Open Government Task Force (MOGTF). The role of the CRWG is to operate as an independent body that will gather citizen feedback and prepare recommendations to bring forward to the MOGTF on how the City can increase accountability, transparency, and citizen’s understanding of and contribution to decision-making.
The CRWG held regular open meetings throughout the spring and early summer of 2015 and hosted a community forum where members of the public could make presentations or submit information.
After reviewing the material from the public presentations and citizen feedback the CRWG developed 58 recommendations that were presented to the Mayor's Open Government Task Force on October 8, 2015.
Mayor and Council expressed their appreciation for the CRWG for their in depth consultation work as well as their detailed report that have become the foundation to understanding the needs and expectations around open governance.
